Octavian joined Hitachi Vantara in 2024 and brings more than 25 years of experience in engineering roles, including core storage technology, hardware platform development, software and systems development, application integration and data protection. Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara, he was the senior vice president of hybrid cloud engineering at NetApp, where he led the integration of NetApp’s software portfolio in the AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform clouds. Prior to joining NetApp, he held engineering and product development positions at Oracle, Sun Microsystems and several Silicon Valley startups.
Octavian is a University of California, Berkeley graduate and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As Chief Technology Officer for Artificial Intelligence, Jason Hardy is responsible for the creation and curation of Hitachi Vantara’s AI strategy and portfolio. He is defining the future and strategic direction of Hitachi iQ, the company’s AI Platform, and cultivating a level of trust and credibility across the market by fostering strong working relationships with customers and partners, and leading public-facing events. Jason represents the company externally by communicating its vision and value proposition for AI and by collaborating with key partners to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies.
Prior to his current role, Jason served as the Vice President of Client Strategy and field CTO for Hitachi Vantara’s Data Intelligence portfolio. He brings more than 20 years of experience tackling complex data-driven problems for the world’s largest organizations, addressing critical areas such as digital transformation, object storage technology, artificial intelligence, and high-performance data analytics.
Jason's deep expertise extends beyond technology. Drawing on his experience consulting with hundreds of global clients on data strategy, he incorporates a strong customer-centric perspective into his work. He frequently speaks at industry events, sharing valuable insights and best practices on leveraging emerging technologies to achieve optimal business outcomes.
Based in Santa Clara, California (USA), Adrian Johnson is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Americas and Asia Pacific at Hitachi Vantara. In this role, he leads business strategy across these regions, working closely with customers to navigate digital transformations, gain insights from their data, and incorporate AI and sustainable practices into their strategies.
Adrian joined Hitachi Vantara in 2019 as Vice President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. In 2022, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific, where he guided the region through the global pandemic, driving significant sales and market share growth by strengthening its channel network and partner ecosystem. In 2025, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager, overseeing both the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.
With over 20 years of leadership experience, Adrian has a proven track record of driving transformational change across domains including SaaS, cloud, data management, security, infrastructure and software, services, and consulting. He holds a master’s degree in business and IT and has held senior roles at Liferay Inc., Dell, Fuji Xerox, and Sun Microsystems before joining Hitachi Vantara.
Outside the office, Adrian is passionate about staying active through sports, particularly tennis and swimming. Before transitioning into IT, he served as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy and volunteered as a lifesaver at Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club in Sydney. Adrian also enjoys reconnecting with his three adult daughters during his visits to Sydney, valuing family time as an essential part of his life.
Joe Ong is the Vice President and General Manager for the ASEAN region at Hitachi Vantara, based in the company's Singapore office. With close to three decades of experience in the IT industry and a deep understanding of the ASEAN market, Joe drives business operations and strategic initiatives across all countries in the region. He oversees diverse teams with over 100 direct and indirect reports across sales, pre-sales, services, channel management, and other departments.

Throughout his career, Fred has consistently demonstrated expertise in product development, partner engagement, and GTM with sales leadership, fostering high-performance teams and delivering customer-centric TTM objectives and deliverables.
